Norstein Lastbank AS is a Norwegian specialist company with over 20 years of experience in the supply, development, and rental of load-testing equipment for generators. Established in 2007, we have since built a reputation as a reliable supplier to the Norwegian maritime industry—an industry that demands high precision, operational reliability, and flexibility.
We supply load banks for outputs up to 5 MW and voltages from 220V to 1000V. From our warehouse in Bergen, we serve customers quickly and efficiently nationwide. Being a small, specialized company is our strength: we know our products in detail, understand the industry's needs, and always provide the right expertise and equipment when it matters most.

Elegant and Effective
At the core of our load banks is a principle as elegant as it is effective: by mixing seawater and freshwater in varying ratios, the resistance in the electrical path is adjusted, thereby changing the load on the generator. This allows for completely stepless regulation—from a few kW up to 5,000 kW.
Patented Seawater Solution
We have engineered a system where electrodes are guided through composite material channels, making contact with seawater approximately 50 cm below the surface. This ensures that moderate waves and varying surface conditions do not affect the load.
Compact Design
The advantage of this principle isn't just functional; it also results in exceptionally compact dimensions compared to traditional load banks in the same power class. Easier to transport, simpler to position, and more manageable in cramped shipyards.
